The 2026 model year of the Changan Nevo A07 sedan has been officially launched in China, attracting attention with its competitive starting price of 139,900 yuan ($19,640) and refined powertrain options. As one of the key offerings from the Changan Automobile's new energy vehicle lineup, the A07 is poised to capture the interest of consumers in the rapidly evolving Chinese electric vehicle market.

Changan Nevo, a prominent name in China's burgeoning electric vehicle sector, has unveiled the latest iteration of its A07 sedan. With dimensions of 4905 mm in length, 1910 mm in width, and 1480 mm in height, the A07 commands a significant presence on the road. Its sleek profile is enhanced by a drag coefficient of 0.22 Cd, achieved through innovative design elements like an active air intake and a streamlined roofline. The sedan's exterior is marked by distinctive features such as slim running lights connected by an LED strip, a ducktail spoiler, and sporty 19-inch rims, all contributing to its modern, aerodynamic aesthetic.

Inside the A07, Changan has opted for a minimalist approach, eliminating the traditional instrument panel in favor of an augmented-reality head-up display. A large 15.4-inch floating touchscreen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip, serves as the central hub for the vehicle's infotainment system. This futuristic setup is complemented by practical touches like dual wireless phone charging pads and ample storage options within the center console. The car's interior emphasizes both form and function, providing a sophisticated yet user-friendly experience for drivers and passengers alike.

Changan Nevo's commitment to offering diverse powertrain choices is evident in the A07's lineup. Buyers can choose between the BEV variant, which features a 190 kW (255 hp) electric motor powered by a 79 kWh LFP battery, boasting a range of 730 km, and the EREV version equipped with a 200 kW (268 hp) motor and a 35.1 kWh battery pack. The latter's range is extended to an impressive 1,570 km, thanks to the addition of a 1.5-liter engine and a 45-liter fuel tank. These specifications underscore Changan's focus on providing flexible mobility solutions that cater to varying consumer needs.

The launch of the 2026 A07 comes at a time when Changan Nevo is experiencing significant growth in its domestic market. According to data from China EV DataTracker, the brand delivered over 116,710 vehicles between January and July of 2025, with the A07 accounting for nearly a third of these sales. This strong performance highlights the model's vital role in Changan's strategy to solidify its position as a leader in the new energy vehicle sector. The A07's contribution to the brand's success is further accentuated by its alignment with current market trends towards sustainable and technologically advanced vehicles.

The pricing strategy for the 2026 Nevo A07 has been simplified, offering consumers a choice of four trim levels, compared to ten in the previous year. This streamlined approach not only makes the buying process more straightforward but also ensures that each variant is packed with desirable features, including a power tailgate, sunroof, Karaoke system, and advanced driver assistance systems. The competitive pricing, combined with limited-time discounts, positions the A07 as an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers looking to invest in a high-quality electric vehicle.

As the 2026 Changan Nevo A07 enters the market, it represents a significant milestone in Changan's journey towards electrification and innovation. With its combination of cutting-edge design, advanced technology, and flexible powertrains, the A07 is well-equipped to meet the demands of modern consumers and contribute to the brand's continued growth. As Changan Nevo expands its reach, the A07’s success will be a critical factor in strengthening the brand's reputation as a frontrunner in the global electric vehicle landscape.

The augmented-reality HUD and 15.4-inch display are impressive, but I'm skeptical about the longevity of the Snapdragon 8155 chip in automotive use. Also, are the 730 km range claims verified under real-world conditions?

The mix of a minimalist interior with advanced tech is intriguing. How does the space feel inside, considering the lack of a traditional instrument panel?
