On September 9, 2025, Lexus unveiled the latest iteration of its iconic IS model, promising an enhanced driving experience and a striking new design. Set to hit various markets by early 2026, the new Lexus IS continues the brand's tradition of combining sportiness with luxury, all while integrating cutting-edge technology and design innovations.

Since its inception in 1999, the Lexus IS has been at the forefront of compact sports sedans, renowned for its dynamic driving capabilities and bold aesthetics. With over 1.3 million units sold across 40 countries, the IS remains a cornerstone of the Lexus lineup. The latest model, developed through rigorous testing at global Toyota centers, brings forward its 'Lexus Driving Signature', an assurance of performance that is both exhilarating and refined.

The new Lexus IS introduces two variants: the IS 300h and the IS 350. Under the theme of 'Refinement in performance and design', these models aim to elevate the driving experience. The electric power steering now features a variable gear ratio, enhancing control through tight corners and intersections. Additionally, the new Adaptive Variable Suspension system provides a smoother ride by balancing stability and shock absorption. These advancements ensure that the new IS is not only about speed but also about precision and comfort.

Design has always been a significant focus for Lexus, and the new IS does not disappoint. The exterior boasts a redesigned front fascia that emphasizes its low center of gravity and wide stance, enhancing its aggressive look. The F SPORT model adds a new rear spoiler and 19-inch lightweight aluminum wheels, further boosting its aerodynamic profile. The introduction of the Neutrino Gray color option adds a dynamic flair, complementing the sporty nature of the vehicle.

Inside, the Lexus IS continues to impress with a driver-focused cockpit. The interior features a 12.3-inch touchscreen display for improved visibility and control, aligning with the driver's line of sight. The introduction of 'Forged Bamboo' ornamentation adds a unique aesthetic, providing a modern yet sporty feel. The new interior color, 'Prominence', inspired by solar flares, enhances the vibrant atmosphere of the cabin, making every drive a compelling experience.

Safety and technology are at the forefront of the new IS, with expanded features in the Lexus Safety System +. The addition of Advanced Drive, part of the Lexus Teammate suite, supports highway driving under certain conditions, aiming to make long-distance travel more relaxing. This integration of advanced driver assistance systems highlights Lexus's commitment to safety without compromising driving enjoyment.

The unveiling of the new Lexus IS marks a significant step in the brand's journey towards innovation and sustainability. Lexus continues to blend luxury with responsibility, supporting Toyota's 'Beyond Zero' initiative, which aims to reduce environmental impact while enhancing customer lifestyle. As the automotive industry evolves, Lexus remains committed to delivering vehicles that not only meet the needs of today but also contribute to a better tomorrow.

What are the new safety features included in this model? With technology advancing, I’m wondering how Lexus is keeping up on that front.
