Chery has officially unveiled its all-new Tiggo 8, a mid-size SUV designed for families, featuring a fresh design, enhanced dimensions, and a five-seat configuration. Set to launch in the fourth quarter of this year, the latest iteration of the Tiggo 8 aims to expand Chery's presence in the competitive SUV market.
The all-new Chery Tiggo 8 is set to captivate the market with its updated design and larger frame, extending 4749 mm in length, 1880 mm in width, and 1710 mm in height, along with a wheelbase of 2825 mm. These dimensions make the new Tiggo 8 longer and wider than its predecessor, providing more space and comfort for a family-oriented audience. An intriguing aspect of the launch is the introduction of two distinct front fascia styles. One mirrors the current Tiggo 8 Plus with split headlights and a polygonal X-shape matrix grille, while the other presents a unified headlight unit coupled with a polygonal diamond-shaped grille. This design diversity aims to cater to varying consumer tastes and preferences.
Inside the Tiggo 8, the rear design features a through-type taillight that spans the vehicle’s width, enhancing its modern appeal. The back also boasts a dual exhaust and a Chery English letter logo, adding to its aesthetic allure. While Chery has yet to disclose the new model’s powertrain details, the market anticipates a more robust engine than the current version. This expectation stems from Chery's history of integrating advanced technology and performance into its vehicles, suggesting that the new Tiggo 8 could be equipped with an engine offering superior power and efficiency.
Chery's Tiggo 8 series already comprises various models, including the Tiggo 8 Plus, Tiggo 8L, Tiggo 8 Zhuoyue Edition, and the Tiggo 8 Pro. Notably, the Zhuoyue Edition, which translates to 'Excellence' in English, is priced between 109,900 to 119,900 yuan (approximately 15,400 to 16,800 USD). August sales figures for the Tiggo 8 were impressive, with 15,695 units sold, underscoring the model's popularity in the Chinese market. These statistics highlight Chery's growing influence and the Tiggo 8's strong market presence, which the new model aims to further consolidate.
The launch of the all-new Tiggo 8 is a strategic move by Chery to enhance its competitive edge in the SUV segment, a market characterized by a preference for spacious, versatile vehicles. By offering an updated design and potentially more powerful performance, Chery is poised to attract a broader audience. The SUV's adaptability, catering to both urban and suburban lifestyles, could significantly contribute to its appeal among diverse consumer demographics.
As we await the official launch, the anticipation surrounding the all-new Chery Tiggo 8 continues to build. Industry observers are keen to see how the SUV will perform against competitors and if it will set new benchmarks in design and functionality. With the automotive landscape rapidly evolving, particularly in China, the Tiggo 8's introduction signifies Chery's commitment to innovation and market leadership.
